Felgah and maaz venting thread

Oh ok… That’s actually new and different for this season.

The narrative now is whether the KC defense can blow less than the Patriots offense which would result in more points scored by the Patriots offense than the Patriots defense. We shall see.

My wise ass post was just a frustrated attempt to shift the chat from pats big D vs chiefs big O. Can the offense build off of some garbage time success in the last game ? Does that mean anything?

After having re-watched and reviewed almost all of the Pats games from this season I have seen enough good things from this offense that they should be able to put it all together now that most of the players are there an practicing together.

I do have a big concern at C though. Pats are down to the 3rd string. I’m guessing they move Thuney there but that really shakes things up if Karras can’t go. He has quietly put together a quality season replacing Andrews. And the O-Line has been playing much better since Wynn came back. That was and unfortunate injury Sunday.

My prediction on the chat today… Is that maaz will be milking his take that the positive fallout from pats win is huge. Hmmm…

Felgah will be puffing up the coaching and how the winning team structure built over the years is just a massive advantage at foxboro.

The question remains … Is one game showing positive results , especially from Brady at 42, enough to shift the belief in this team fully into the playoffs…? Is it sustainable.?

^^^answer… no.

And the chat today was FELGAH acting like Brady’s agent … Going “Brady’s comps are Brees and Rivers… Whatever they get , Brady should get…”

Um… Brees completion % 74.3… (1st). Brady 60. (27th)

Passer rating similar. Earth to felgie… about that comparison. Big difference now.

Patriots Offense Notes

Some random facts about the Patriots offense this season, recapping how they performed.

  • They averaged 23.1 points a game. Their lowest total since 2005

  • The Patriots receivers ranked dead last in average separation from their defender on 613 pass attempts. This stat applies to every receiver running a route on each play.

  • The receivers also dropped a total of 34 passes out of 419 throws that were on target from Tom. That total was the 2nd most in the league behind the Cowboys.

  • The offensive line finished with a 75.9 pass blocking grade from PFF. That was 11th best in the league. Last season they had a grade of 82.1 which was good for 6th best. Their pass blocking efficiency, which measures the amount of pressures allowed per pass attempt, was nearly identical to last year. 86.7 this season to 87.8 last season.

  • The offensive line were allowing rushers 4.6 yards per carry average once Isaiah Wynn came back from IR.

  • Tom had a grade from PFF of 76.0. It was his lowest grade since 2006 and was tied for 14th in the league with Jimmy Garoppolo.

  • When Tom passed to Edelman, he had a 65.2 completion percentage, 7.3 yards per attempt and a 91.4 passer rating

  • When Tom passed to anyone else (Harry, Sanu, Dorsett, Meyers, LaCosse, Watson) he had a 56.4 completion percentage, 6.2 yards per attempt, 77.4 passer rating.

  • Despite the struggles, Tom still had the 2nd best grade in the league on throws longer than 20 yards down field with a clean pocket (96.5). He also had his worst grade when throwing under pressure since 2013 (49.1) which was good for 17th in the league.

Excellent Mike. Thanks for posting this.

Well the felgie mazz reaction show to the Superbowl is worth a click on the podcast. Haha. Poor mazz had to absorb all the Jimmy G critics while he acknowledged JG choked in the 4th qtr.

The fact was that Jimmy had a great 2nd and 3rd qtr compiling a 100 QB rating despite the horrible pick. Since the pick he had like 15 straight completions.

But then the announcers curse. Watching replay of the game it was fascinating to see how the game flipped . SF had just intercepted mahomes for the second time and we’re leading 20-10 and JG just completed pass to Kittles who picked it inches from the turf… The announcers go. " Well …Jimmy has compiled great numbers since that pick and is likely the SB MVP. " Wow then it flipped. They also showed a scheming KC DC spagnola… Who beat the best offense ever in the 2007 Patriots. He started mixing blitzes and shut down JG while hitting him twice without a penalty. First shoving him tumbling out of bounds , then blatant helmet to chin by blitzing LB. Both on 3rd downs that should have moved the chains for SF. The refs were for KC clearly.

So Jimmy was beaten up and played small at the end. Did not come up big in the biggest moments. Meanwhile mahomes used his size all game playing tough. Not sure if this showing defines JG or just was a bad finish based on those specific circumstances… SF defense wilted too…

I love it when people try to “prove” their speculations by putting the word “clearly” at the end.

Actually, no I don’t. I scoff at such people.

The refs looked the other way on a lot of calls they could have made against both sides. I saw no “clear” bias. But hey, just keep asserting things as vehemently as you can … maybe you can get a few timid folks to fall for it.

Well … its simple to analyze… You count the just blatant missed calls . Which team benefitted more? Just like SB against eagles… 3of 4 eagles TDS were disputable, 2 were obviously blown calls , clearly favored Philly.

But I can fix the post for you by adding IMO at the end of the sentence.

The second big issue is the Brady watch.

The waiting game is filled with speculation like Gisele was supposedly spotted looking at properties in Tennessee. Haha. Moving Vans are moving stuff …

I think it’s weird to keep waiting. If pats are clear about the QB position then they should act now. There are advantages to Brady staying but the way to play on those is to make the offer now. At your best price. If he declines, then you start moving in the other direction . This is waste of time, IMO.

They are milking the Brady watch for every clickbait minute possible… But you gotta admit that the story outcome has lots of juice.

The difference as a patriot fan between another Brady season … and turning the page to another QB while WATCHING HIM PLAYING FOR ANOTHER TEAM… is HUGE.

SO … on they go with lots of dorky speculation since that’s their job… lol. But dumb is dumb, especially when it’s babbled with smug pompous righteousness… like yeah we’re so on top of it cuz we got a microphone (to stroke and worship in front of their mouths… how symbolic)

But digressing into specifics. I still think it’s stupid to compare Brady with Brees at this stage . The stats were not close last year. And this is the Crux of the discussion since if Brady just admitted that his skills were diminished, then the contract discussion would be team friendly like always. But nooo… we have the free agency speculation… another month of it.

OMG… felgah is such an idiot and saying it’s such a mystery that Newton is an upgrade over Brady.

Um… it was predicted before week one in thread Pat’s sign Newton. Also it’s obvious that mobility not old age improves the QB position… start there… lol…

Ok … Gotta vent cuz it’s like a big bitch slap for felgah …
The Covid issue is just stupid. Positive…? Ok retest negative. Got it.

I’m kinda sick of this. 6months ago , we shut down for 1 reason . So hospitals would not get overwhelmed with virus patients. Ok… ( also to learn about unknown virus.)

Ok 6 months later. We increased respirators. Staffing. Safety procedures. Efficiency methods. And also lots of people … like 90% are able to stay home and treat themselves… LIKE EVERY OTHER VIRUS …!

SO… what’s the problem now…!? Massive fraud and idiots claiming they need to control a virus… Really… We’re running around like IDIOTS listening to these dorks.

News flash … we can’t control it. All we can do is MANAGE IT. like every other nasty virus we have dealt with in our history. Manage means use some prevention measures but its not perfect. It means treating who needs to be treated and protecting those needing protection.

The thing that’s so crazy is that this is UNPRECIDENTED… never in our history have we tried to control a virus like weenies so afraid of a sniffles and cough. People that are unhealthy might have problems but this has always been true before.

This massive system experiment is failing our economy miserably. People are being stressed out by the millions so the medical establishment can maintain this fraud. Ug.

I think think I’m just getting over the damn thing. I talked a little about it in the Random Thought thread.

I have a fairly unhealthy lifestyle and for me, it was uncomfortable but nowhere near as bad as any flu I’ve ever had. Just lack of energy, runny nose scratchy throat, kinda heavy chest and one night of slightly fevered sleep. Oh and a nauseous but that my have been something else.

However, we have a friend who was miserable for a bit with it.

I agree with your takes here on this. Well done.

Miserable for a bit. That’s the definition of any virus.

Yeah… I had a virus 5 years ago and my throat was so swollen I couldn’t swallow… then I couldn’t sleep cuz when I tried to swallow , I would cough. Hmmmm… What next. Is my throat gonna swell shut?

Nasty. Went to doctor . Throat meds. Week later, gone. Thing is , Viruses act on different people differently. That was bad for me but it wasn’t a named pandumbic.

This thread is getting dangerously close to having a political agenda.

The fact is, its a lot more than “sniffles and a cough” for a lot of people, even those without comorbidity factors. It is not like any other virus, and claiming it is “for the economy” is a bit insulting to those that have had to deal with some very real life-changing effects from this virus.

If it does not affect you or your loved ones that badly, than that is good. But that is not evidence about how it affects others. Just a N=1 example.

OK. I was just basically describing my and one of of our friends experience with it. Wasn’t really trying being make this political. Was mostly thinking about the Pats players and what they may go through.
