Edit: Based on the current list at spotrac, Patriots as of right now have 76 active players. That means they need to get rid of 23 more (or so) in the next two hours.
I say “or so” because a few will end up on the practice squad or (non-recallable) IR lists, right?
Since my last post, spotrac has reported only one more player waiver, which brings the active roster down to 75. On one hand, I thought the 53-man cut time was 1600 EDT; on the other, because of the flood of transactions league-wide, it’s probably just a matter of time before spotrac posts the rest of the cuts.

Doug Kyed at NESN is saying that Gunner is in. He is also reporting the Brossette is out:
— The Patriots waived running back Nick Brossette, a source told Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle. Brossett saw plenty of playing time in the preseason, but running back is one of New England’s deepest positions.
— In a stunning turn of events, receiver/return man Gunner Olszewski has made the Patriots’ roster, and cornerback Keion Crossen has been traded to the Houston Texans.

Apparently they’ve taken a Mulligan on waiving Gunner.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – In a move that might be procedural more than permanent, the New England Patriots released veteran receiver Demaryius Thomas on Saturday.
Because Thomas doesn’t have to clear waivers, and has expressed an interest in remaining in New England, the club can bring him back at any time, and there is an expectation that he is likely to return.
Releasing Thomas allows the Patriots to initially keep another player who otherwise would have had to clear waivers, such as undrafted rookie punt returner Gunner Olszewski, who had initially been told he would be waived Saturday before the club called him back and told him he had a spot.
I guess spotrac only reports things that have been officially confirmed?
And Mike Reiss and Doug Kyed just tweet 'em when they hear 'em?
Now, this is just crazy talk. 
There are others in the same boat with DT.
Leave it to BB to find a loophole in the system and drive the team bus through it.
