For the National Championship that’s true.
In the minds of all of the coaches and most of the players, it’s not.
Apart from the CFP games, a lot of the other bowl games, especially the rest of the “New Year’s Six” were worth watching, and their outcomes likely have influence on the NFL futures of players and the College futures of the coaches.
It turns out both AP and the Coaches’ Poll boosted the Golden Gophers into that 10th spot. There was then a shuffle between Wisconsin, Baylor, and Notre Dame for 11th through 13th. Here are the final rankings in both polls, from ESPN.com.
