Wingsday in Decorah 
Missing the Decorah Eagles, Decorah North Eagles, or Trempealeau Eagles? We’ll begin streaming from all three on Friday, October 16, at noon Central!
In Decorah, HD and HM2 have begun work on N6. We’re glad they accepted the housewarming gift of a freshly road-killed squirrel we left for them. We replaced a camera and did some trimming near N6 and N1.
The eagle drama continues in Trempealeau! Mr. T appears to be back on the MN Island with a female eagle that could be Mrs. MNI from last year, or could be another eagle entirely, while we’ve seen Mrs. T near the N1/N2 nest trees. As always, the eagles aren’t sharing their plans with us, but this area has a lot of eagles and nests. We’ll see how everything shakes out.
At any rate, we added a camera to N2 and removed a bottle of Early American Old Spice from N1. Since none of us are hauling bottles of Old Spice up into nest trees, we assume one of the T’s saw it bobbing in the river, retrieved it, and carried it up to the nest before discovering it wasn’t edible.
We’re not seeing much activity at Decorah North, where we repaired some cable covering and cleaned some cameras. We’re reminding ourselves that DNF lost Mr. North this spring and it isn’t uncommon for new mates to push nest activities back. In the meantime, there are deer and cattle to watch.

Yesterday: HD and HM2 at N6 this morning. It’s a beautiful fall in Decorah!
Who brought this in? We removed a bottle of American Old Spice from N1 in Trempealeau. We think it must have been bobbing up and down in the river. It caught one of the T’s eyes - or maybe an eaglet’s, since we’re not sure when it arrived - and they swooped down and caught it. A subtle smell remains, but the painted ship is long gone.
