DH3 has completed time in Intensive Care receiving medication and food, weighed in at 8.2 lbs, and had a beak depth measurement of 3.2 cm. The weight and beak depth measurement tell us this is a male.

Then DH3 transitioned to a 10×20 ft flight room to begin working on muscle and flight skills. Read about DH3 in the 10×20 ft flight pen: Out of ICU – Raptor rehabilitation, education, and research

The video below is of him in the high perches of the 10×20 and shows that he is ready to move to the 60-ft flight pen!

On 4 August 2026, DH3 and the New Providence HY26 Bald Eagle were moved to the 60-ft flight pen for continued strength training. DH3 now weighs 8.8 lbs and holding steady. A Sioux County adult Bald Eagle remains in the 60-ft flight room to serve as a role-model for the eaglets.
