My family in northern Maine has a lot of snow and I mean a lot of snow but it’s not uncommon for them to have snow on Mother’s Day and passed it

This happened the first winter I brought my family up to Northern Maine. It was Christmas time.
My son caught a quick cold. And I asked my mom for medicine. And she reminded me of what she did when we had cold just go outside go outside kill the cold which seems weird but that’s what we used to do. Anytime we got sick that’s what my mom would do especially during the winter time. Granted his cold was just forming so we went outside to kill it
So my son and I went outside for hours most of the day and it did get rid of his cold. My husband’s on the inside on the couch shivering with a blanket again on the inside of the house.
Remember he is from the south.
So my mom was walking by and asked him if he was okay. He said is the temperature on the thermometer correct. She said no it’s wrong. He went nt okay, she than said it’s 10 degrees colder, she said he turned a shade of pale she didn’t know you could get on a person
