March 26 Opening Day

Third baseman Rafael Devers knocked 2 homeruns at Rogers Centre where the
Boston team beat the Toronto team 3 to 2.

Boston scored the deciding run in the top of the 9th inning. After two outs
Devers delivered a solo blast. Brandon Workman, after tossing a perfect
ninth, was credited with his 1st save.

The victory went to Matt Barnes(1-0) who went 1 inning, allowing no runs. Ken
Giles(0-1) suffered the loss in relief. He surrendered 1 hit and no walks in
1 inning.

March 27

In a startling finish the Boston club staged a comeback then held on to win
over the Toronto team by a score of 8 to 6 at Rogers Centre.

Boston drew first blood jumping out to an early lead in the first inning
scoring a single run utilizing 2 base hits. Andrew Benintendi ripped a
base-hit. After an out was recorded, Xander Bogaerts came up and he lined a
one-base hit scoring the run. Bogaerts took second on the throw. Overall
Boston out-hit Toronto 12 to 9.

Nathan Eovaldi(1-0) got the win allowing 2 runs in 6 innings. Brandon Workman
preserved the game for Eovaldi, recording his his 2nd save. Chase
Anderson(0-1) took the loss. He surrendered 2 runs and 5 hits in 6 innings.

I was actually listening to WEEI for a change opening day and they were running this down as it was updated. Pretty cool.

Just as a point of interest, they are all broadcasting separately from their homes right now.

Just about everyone in Denver has been doing that for a couple of weeks.

The lady from the Classical (Mozart) Station said she broadcasts from her clothing closet because her sweaters, dresses, and blouses deaden the echos.

March 28

In a good matchup it was the Boston ballclub 7, the Toronto ballclub 4 at
Rogers Centre.

Boston drew first blood jumping out to an early lead in the first inning
scoring 2 runners on 3 hits. Boston totaled 12 hits on the afternoon.

The victory went to Ryan Brasier(1-0) who went 1 and 1/3 innings, allowing no
runs. Josh Taylor earned his 1st save. Tanner Roark(0-1) was charged with
the loss. He allowed 8 hits and 3 walks in 4 and 1/3 innings.

March 29

Rafael Devers hit a homerun and had 2 RBI as the Boston club outscored the
Toronto ballclub in 12 innings 6 to 3.

Both teams were tied at 3 runs apiece after nine innings. Boston was
victorious in the 12th inning. After an out was recorded, Andrew Benintendi
got things rolling when he drew a walk. Devers stepped up to the plate and
he lined a one-base hit. One out later, J.D. Martinez then smacked a
three-run homer. Boston had a total of 10 hits for the game.

Matt Barnes(2-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 2 innings and allowing
no runs. Brandon Workman recorded his 3rd save. The loss was charged to
Jordan Romano(0-1) in relief.
